Step #1 Scraping the Vomit Off the Carpet

Wearing a disposable latex or gloves, the first thing that you need to do is to scrape the vomit off of the carpet. The thick pieces of the vomit should be scraped into a plastic bag or a dustpan. This will help avoid the vomit from settling in from the carpet.

Step #2 Picking the Vomit with Paper Towels or Plastic Bags

Start gathering the remaining vomit and pick them up using paper towels. Some people prefer using towels since they can wash them in the washing machine later on. The problem with this is there are probably chunks, and these can get stuck in your washing machine, which can then cause problems. So it is more advisable to use paper towels that you can just throw after.

The best thing that you can do is to cut two cardboards, wherein the first one can be used to push the vomit to the other cardboard, which can add as a dustpan.

You can also use a spatula to scoop the vomit from your carpet. The flat side of the spatulas should be slid under the vomit and carefully lift it off of your carpet. Avoid using a spatula that has slits because the vomit will end up falling through. After using the spatula, make sure to disinfect it.

Step #4 Covering the Spot with Sand

For stubborn vomit, you can start covering it with sand. The reason behind this is because the combination of sand and vomit will create a solid clump since the vomit will stick to it. Once they have combined thoroughly. The next thing that you can do is to start sweeping them up using a dustpan and a broom so you can immediately throw it in the garbage can.

Step #5 Covering the Spot with Baking Soda

To do this, start pouring a generous amount over the carpet’s stain. You can let the baking soda sit there for 15 minutes or until it all dries up. Step #6 Using Warm Water and Clean Rug

Now for any of the remaining residue of vomit, you can start spraying it with warm water and blot the moisture using a clean rag. Avoid scrubbing the area as you will only push the debris in the other part of the carpet. Once the rug is already saturated, you can get another clean rug and repeat the process. There will usually be stains on the carpet, and you can eliminate the stains using a club soda. You can start spraying the area where the stain is and blot the moisture using a cloth. You can add more of the club soda if needed and make sure to use a clean cloth right after.

Tip #2 Dry Cleaning Solvent for Stains

Another tip that you can do is using a dry cleaning solvent to remove the stains on your carpet. You can soak a clean cloth in the cleaning solution and start blotting the stains with it. You can repeat this process until the carpet has fully absorbed the solvent.
